After using the CES Framework, it is recommended to use the F/NF framework. Here’s a brief description of functional and non functional frameworks in the context of systems, software, or product development:
Functional Framework
Definition: Describes what the system or product should do.
Focus: Core features and behaviors required by users.
Examples:
- User authentication
- Payment processing
- Data entry and retrieval
- Notification system
Key: It's all about functions, tasks, or use cases that fulfill user needs.
Non Functional Framework
Definition: Describes how the system performs or behaves.
Focus: Quality attributes that affect user experience and system performance.
Examples:
- Performance (speed, responsiveness)
- Scalability
- Usability
- Reliability
Key: It ensures the system is efficient, secure, and user friendly beyond just working correctly.
To use the FNF Framework, students are asked to complete 2 columns:
- Functional: What is the main features?
- Nonfunctional: What is the feature that can improve product values?
