Advances in digital technology have driven significant growth in the use of mobile applications among various user groups, including Pinterest, which generates numerous user reviews as a source of satisfaction information. However, the vast number of reviews available in unstructured text format makes the manual analysis process difficult and potentially introduces bias due to sentiment data imbalance. This study was conducted to compare the performance levels of the Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms in classifying sentiment from Pinterest user reviews. The research methods include preprocessing, labeling, feature extraction through the application of Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), data splitting of 80:20 and 70:30, and the application of Random Oversampling (ROS) to address the data imbalance. Evaluation was implemented using a confusion matrix through accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The research findings indicate that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) under imbalanced data conditions with an 80:20 ratio achieved the highest global accuracy of 89.01% and an F1-score of 88.71%, while Naive Bayes with Random Oversampling (ROS) at a 70:30 ratio yielded the highest negative class recall of 87.03% and an F1-score of 72.68%. This study emphasizes that model evaluation on imbalanced data needs to focus on per-class performance, specifically negative class recall, rather than just global accuracy.
